Real quick–I just wanted to let you know that if you purchase a book through the Amazon links I provide, I do get a small percentage. Thanks in advance for supporting my writing endeavors!

Today I want to highlight my friend and author Kevin Micuch. I wanted to interview him because I like supporting new authors and I really like his Christian science fiction book Quickening Ceres–it’s a great example of what I call Type 5 Christian fiction. He also has published the book Calvinism: Built on a Foundation of Sand. Kevin is a guy with many talents, but above all, he has a heart that seeks to serve God through writing.

(Real quick. I do want to tell you that I receive a small compensation if you buy anything through the Amazon links provided. Thanks for supporting me and the author!)

JD: When and how did you get into writing?

KM: I started writing little articles a few years ago for my congregation’s bulletin and would also use them on my Facebook page Gates of Life. It wasn’t until August 2016 that I decided to write what would be Quickening Ceres. I heard if you have a story, write it down. I didn’t know what would become of it not having any formal writing training. I just knew the basics and it started flowing from there.

JD: What inspired you to write Quickening Ceres?

KM: A discussion I had with a buddy of mine about aliens. We were thinking, if there are aliens out there, would Jesus have died for them too? Do they have their own Messiah? Do they need one? I just started tweaking it from there and made it my own story.

JD: What inspired you to write Calvinism: Built on a Foundation of Sand?

KM: Calvinism really is what got me started studying Scripture. I heard their theology and it was just so different than what I was taught. I wanted to know if they were right or not. I had already written several articles on the different tenets of Calvinism, so I just comprised a book from what I’ve already written.

JD: When did you decide you wanted to publish a book–and how did you go about doing that?

KM: About halfway through QC, I was talking to a [Christian] brother and he knew a guy that published his book. He gave me his information and we hit it off. From start to finish, QC took a little over two years. I actually comprised the Calvinism book while it was being edited and that one was the first one to be published.

JD: What’s next for you? Any books in the works?

KM: As of right now, I do have a novel I’ve shelved due to my daughter being born. It’s easier to write articles for now so I just write for my blog. As of this week too, I partnered with a brother on the blog “The Road to Better Living” to help promote how to live a more positive lifestyle. That starts with having good mental health, so anything to do with positivity or education will be our focus.

JD: Thank you Kevin for donating your time!

KM: Thanks for the interview. Twas fun!
